Description: The Imperial China Restaurant offers the most exquisite Chinese and Szechaun food and an extensive menu is offered both in the restaurant and as a take away. New Forest locals have come to accept the friendly, discreet service as the 'norm', but no-one visiting Imperial China fails to comment on the high quality of the food no matter how many times they have eaten there !

Great meal last night, good and cheerful service and good value. Loved the sweet and sour fish, squid, fried noodles, well everything really.

Had dinner here as had seen excellent reviews on TA. Highly recommend the set meal for 2 - wonderful mixed starter followed by aromatic duck then another 3 dishes ! Beautifully cooked and wonderful friendly service. If you are staying in the new forest this is a must!

We have recently moved to the area and ordered a takeaway to pick up. It was ready 15 mins later and was literally the best Chinese takeaway we have ever eaten - and we've sampled a few in our time! The welcome was warm and friendly and the food was out of this world. Would highly recommend the aubergine in Szechuan style - spicy, sweet and sticky mouthfuls of deliciousness that I couldn't get enough of. The scallops with black bean sauce were yummy and the Singapore noodles were just as they should be - slightly crispy in places, spicy and full of flavour. We also ordered the Special Hors D'oeuvres, which came in a pretty little box, but my only disappointment was the ribs, which were difficult to eat without getting a mouthful of gristle. Other than that an absolutely perfect meal that left us both with huge grins on our faces. The down side to finding such a lovely restaurant? We have been trying to watch our weight over the last year - finding Imperial China might be our undoing. :-) Thanks Imperial China - compliments to the chef. We'll be back very soon.

Having been here a few times both for takeaways and sitting in I have to say it’s my favorite Chinese! Food is always delicious and never had too wait too long. Service is very good!

We visited the Imperial China on Saturday 6th October as a last minute thing after driving though Lyndhurst.

We didn’t make a reservation but we were there just after they opened so had no issue being seated.

The staff were attentive and took our orders quickly, and the food didn’t take long to arrive at all.

Whilst we were there the phone didn’t stop ringing for takeaway orders which shows they must be good if the locals eat there.

The food was nice we couldn’t finish it all so they kindly boxed it for us to take away.
Whilst we were there the restaurant filled up quite quickly with large groups so I think it’s worth booking a table.

My only issue really was the price of the dishes, they all sit around £8-£11 per dish which I thinks quite expensive.
For two people with one alcoholic drink each, a starter each and a main it came to £51

We would eat here again if we were in lyndhurst and would recommend it.
