Amazing little history surrounding this town. Kept the kids entertained and the sit in carriage is a must.
Peterborough and steam. Well worth it. This 1 carriage free museum is just a taste of the area. Filled with artifacts and info it gives a glimpse into the lives of our past of the great steam age. Inside the end are still cabins as comfy the day they were made to show off how travel was like in the early 20th century. Have we lost it now. I think so.
Visit here even if you go to steamtown.
Locayed mainstreet right next to town hall. On the otherside is an old locomotive to climb aboard
Well not quite a ride but one feels like they are travelling in the cartuage, complete with sound effects. Best of all it is FREE.
This a free museum. You sit on the train & watch the history. It is very well done, in a well restored carriage & great for all the tourists passing through. Thank you to Peterborough
We dropped in to this self guide, free entry museum which is located in the Main Street of Peterborough.
The time line history of the settlement and development of the area was fascinating.
Located in a train carriage we loved the sound and video of the scenery passing by the train as it passes through Manahill. The funny thing was that we had only just stopped at Manahill to take photos of the beautiful station house. Well worth a visit.
