We found this tour to be very informative and definitely exceeded our expectations. We were very impressed that the tour was given by the owner (son) of the farm instead of someone they had employed, this made it very personal. The tour included not only the cane but vanilla, cocoa and they also grow trees to feed the koalas in the zoo.

We visited Sweet Farm Tours to learn more about agriculture in Australia and we were not disappointed. We got to see fields of sugarcane and learn about how it is planted, grown, and harvested. We also got to see a grove of eucalyptus trees, which they are growing to feed the koalas at nearby Hartley's Crocodile Farm. We got to go through a greenhouse where they are growing vanilla beans, and learn how they pollinate those by hand, and see cacao beans growing on their trees: touch, smell and feel a cacao pods (they are huge), and watch a short movie about growing cocoa beans. We also got to sample various Australian chocolates, as well as sugarcane juice, which was delicious. They also showed us the various farm machinery they use on the farm which was fascinating to me since I grew up on a farm. There is a small gift shop in which you can purchase various chocolates, vanilla, and other products me from sugarcane. The owners are friendly and passionate about their farm and what they are doing. They were great about answering questions. I would strongly recommend Sweet Farm Tours to anyone visiting the area-especially if you are interested in learning more about the process of growing sugarcane, vanilla, and cacao.

Fantastic farm tour. It was informative, there was taste testing (yum) and everyone was friendly and helpful. They even provided umbrellas to protect us from getting sunburnt!
