Aaaaaawwww c'mon now!!! This little trip off the main street is a fair dinkum journey into the jaws of Australian folklore, which not nearly enough of us celebrate today!!! Wind up your old box brownie; clear out the cobwebs of your modern day imagination and embrace the fun of the moment and take at the very minimum a selfie for social media! The little shrine in honor of Blackall's claim to being the iconic home of the Black Stump is beautifully established and wonderfully presented for us all to enjoy. So take a minute and let the great tradition of a past era embrace you and inspire you as only an outback Aussie yarn can.... enjoy

The mural is good. The information is good. The history is good. The stump is a fake. We were left on this side of the fake stump.

Piece of history and Australian bush folklore. Protected location near the school. The story is well explained on a board nearby.

This was a great opportunity to get elderly family on both sides of the black stump. Really enjoyed our visit to Blackall and there's heaps to see for a small town. Don't forget the old railway.
