would have been nice to have a drink at the top of the Hartside. after a long climb you get thirsty. it was sad to see that the business was burned down.

While it stood it was a haven for the traveller and bikers but sadly it burnt down earlier this year. When it was open, you could a snack, a cuppa with a wonderful view west. The view is still there but alas....

No facilities at the moment or forsee able future which is a shame as much needed after a long climb on the bike.

The beast from the east blocked the road the day the fire brigade was needed!
We had planned a lunch stop whilst doing the C2C as this café is a of the top of Hartside almost 2000 ft up but alas it needs rebuilding however there is a rapid descent to ALSTON

Non op at present still has stunning views and a huge car park. Popular place for hardy cyclists to stop and get their breath
