Great caesar.
Wonderful moose burger with fab condiments.
Full caffeine blast with the pressed coffees.
Q Tip: Great stop either way on your loop of Bonavista.
The view is awesome but Mike Patterson’s quality craftsmanship on his daughter Katie’s restaurant is a super wow. All the chairs hand-crafted in unique styles. The decorating touches from dough table, wood oven trim and every detail in the washrooms from wall art to beautiful towels ... probably one of the nicest washrooms on this planet in a restaurant.
Real classy stuff.

On our way to Cape Bonavista i found our about this out of the way restaurant in Amherst. What a quaint lovely little place. The foid was excellent. We had the moose burger and pizza. The pizza and bun are made from scratch right there. This is a must if you plan on travelling to Bonavista

We had heard that the Bonavista Social Club was a must visit while we were in Bonavista. It's not exactly in Bonavista but about 10 kms outside, down a very terrible road... they really need to repave it but just be careful on your way down. They have put up a couple of little signs to let you know the way which are really needed if you don't have GPS. It was early in the season and still very busy, you could tell the servers were new as there was a bit or disorganization which is understandable considering all the people flooding in.

We made two trips there on our 4 day visit to Bonavista. The first time I had the pizza which was excellent and the second time I had the pork belly salad which was also excellent but could have used more pork belly. If you are going you need to try the pizza, make sure you get the bacon, it really makes the pizza outstanding. The setting is unique complete with grazing sheep right outside the restaurant. This place is definitely worth the trip and make sure you get the pizza, I can't stress that enough.

This wonderful spot takes the farm-to-table model and ups the ante by growing much of its food on site. I have eaten here many times, in my various travels to Newfoundland, and they never disappoint. This is not the kind of place that is prone to foot traffic - unless you live in Amherst Cove, you will drive a fair bit to get here. That is a small price to pay for the experience of eating here. Situated right near the water, the front porch offers breathtaking views, as you gaze across the water to King's Cove. If you are there early enough in the year, you might see an iceberg or two from there. This is all secondary, however, to the main reason for coming here - the food.

Their menu can be divided into two main categories - pizza and non-pizza. The non-pizza menu fluctuates, depending on the availability of ingredients, but everything is delicious and well-prepared. Often the entrees are a little on the pricier side so if it is bang-for-buck that you are looking for, the pizzas are the way to go. Featuring one of the few brick ovens on the island, the results are amazing. And with the ingredients being so fresh, it is always a win (chicken with feta and hot pepper oil was always a favorite of mine). Also, you have to wash it all down with their rhubarb lemonade. Delicious.
