I had dinner here this past week while on business in Raleigh. This establishment was recommended by another chef friend and I was glad to take him up on the suggestion. The portions are huge and the prices are unbeatable for a quick hot and delicious meal.

The food was good and not expensive. Between 7 and 12 dollars per dish. Good quantity. Dumplings are homemade and good. I recommend if you have few time to eat.

A Chinese-born friend of mine said the food here was very similar to what he grew up with.

I ordered the roasted duck with rice noodles. The presentation was pretty with slices of bone-in duck spread across the top with bright green baby bok choy surrounding the duck. The broth was a bit bland for my taste.

My companion had an order of pork dumplings and said that they were very good.

We shared a scallion pancake with beef. This was the hit of the meal for me. Slices of beef in what tasted like hoisan sauce were wrapped with the pancake. The portion was quite large and would have made a nice lunch by itself.

The customers that day were probably 2/3 Asian which makes me (non-Asian) think that this place must be the real deal.

Service was excellent - friendly and attentive. There were no language problems at all!

It is easy to park on Dixie Trail for free and walk 4 or 5 minutes to the restaurant.

I was looking for good soup and dumplings. I first realized there was no parking available other than paying for it. I did park in a garage for 9.00 and walked over to the restaurant. Upon entering, I received a menu with most items scratched out, i was told they do not have it. There were very few items to choose since everything was scratced out. I waited a good deal of time to get some type of service. When someone finally approached us to take our order, she was not able to answer questions because she did not speak english, nor did anyone sent over to us. I finally pointed to some pictures and asked if this is what i will be getting if i order this picture. The person told me those are not their pictures, so no, but it will be good

I did order the soup, which had less taste to it that a boulion cube, it was very clear and tasteless. The dumplings were tasteless and the food was so bland, we did not finish our meal.

The restaurant reminded me of the oldtime diners with the napkins in a container on your table with the old fashion salt and pepper on the tables. I can’t believe that their pictures of their dishes are not theirs or even prepared by them or, the fact that at 6:30pm to be handed a menu with all sorts of scratched out items, is pretty sad.
