We were supposed to go there for a birthday celebration before the coronavirus happened, and they closed. Did notice they were doing a Easter dinner -so we signed up. We got the beef tenderloin, asparagus, mashed potatos, fancy apple tart, and rolls. Also got a side of the lobster mac. It was fantastic- even the rolls were delicious, and I am not a bread person as a rule. They included butter, and horseradish sauce. We had a pickup time of 4:00 P - the day before; and exactly at 4:00 they brough the food to our car. We followed the reheating directions provided and everything was perfect. Looking forward to when they reopen- excellent experience!

Good steakhouses are aplenty. Excellent ones are a few. This was quite good bordering on excellent.

Being of the old New York City steakhouse patron, my demands are quite high. So, from that I judge accordingly.

I really like the atmoshpere. It's "woody" and "club-like" and should almost have an accompanying cigar and cognac lounge for afterwards. Service was excellent, personal and attentive. Never was it intrusive, but it was warm and friendly-professional to a T.

Steaks were solid. Excellently prepared and cooked. I had the New York Strip au Poivere and it was quite good done Medium. Others had the Ribeye, one had the Lamb, and one other had the Waygu. All great.

For sides we had the Wild Wild Mushrooms, Potato, Spinach and Brussels Sprouts. I was a bit dissapointed in the "Wild" Mushroom side as I wanted to see a better mix of truly "Wild" mushrooms. Instead I think it was more pedestrian.

Appetizers were great! We got the "seafood tower" with lobster and oysters and shrimp. Oysters were great (Connecticut Bluepoint) and everything was quite fresh.

I had a French Onion Soup in between and was dissapointed. It was no bigger than a teacup and had average flavor, which should have been richer and deeper. I would choose different the next time.

Desserts were spot on. The Cheesecake is outstanding.

All in all I was happy and would definately go back again. In fact, we plan to.

The best service in town - plus - the entire meal - it started with a unique bread basket - was memorable. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were also first rate. The service at other high end steak houses - like Sullivan's and Fleming's is usually first rate. Our server (John) at The Capital Grille took excellent service to a new level. Attentive, funny, engaging - he made the dining experience something special

Our daughter got us a gift certificate for CG and we noticed Restaurant Week was coming up. We asked a bunch of friends if they wanted to go for lunch and were shocked when we had 15 go! I spoke with the sales manager, Melissa, who was extremely helpful. She explained the various seating opportunities, that they could still do separate credit cards for everyone and that they had free valet parking. None of us had been there so we were looking forward to it. Although we had one large table, we were seated in a quiet area against a wall where we could still hear those around us. Our waiters were excellent, the restaurant was top-notch, the drinks were great and our food was very good. My filet was not the best I've ever eaten but everyone else was very happy with their meal.

I went into this dinner with low expectations because I generally end up underwhelmed at steakhouses, but we had received a gift card to figured 'why not?'

The food was solid. Calamari as an app was nice, not too fried and just the right amount of spice with the various peppers. My fiancee and I ordered their Sunday special that was 2 salads, 2 entrees with shared sides, and a shared dessert. The potatoes and brussels as sides were very good. I found the entrees very tasty as well, though the steak was a bit charred for my taste. It was cooked to order exactly though, which I appreciated.

What I appreciated most though was the service. Our server was extremely personable and was very attentive. He was very familiar with the menu and really went out of his way to make sure we were having a good evening, as we were celebrating our engagement. Complimentary champagne toasts, some special table decor, a congrats card, and a little extra dessert were all extra touches that went a long way (Thanks Jonathan!). Extra shout out to how they handled the 'dine and dashers' next to us.

Long story short, the place is on the pricy side, but it's justified. The food is delicious and the service is top notch. I'd definitely come here again.
