We like to try new places to dine and taking advantage of Triangle Restaurant week, we stopped by on the spur of the moment. We arrived at 5:30 on a week night and walked in no reservations. The place was packed and no opens until 9:30pm. Superb hostess asked if minded the heated patio, of course we said yes, with worries we would not enjoy the atmosphere. Far from it, we had a great table, lots of other diners and adjacent to the very full bar! We had a superb and I mean superb experience! Our waiter was perfectly attentive and our fab meal was served quickly and amazing! We travel a lot and can say the Capital Grille is now our top place to dine. Cocktails were awesome, wine list beyond extensive and again the food was outstanding.

We enjoy the Capital Grill on a regular basis. From very efficient valet parking to a great bar to a great dinning experience, this is a top shelf restaurant. There is no bad meal at the Capital Grill. Reservations are a must.

Superb food. Portions were just the right size. Waite staff was awesome. Service was impeccable. I would recommend stopping when in the mood for fine dining

So we have been several times. The time before this was so awful that management gave us $100 worth of gift cards to come back. Tonight we did so. First, the bar staff has gone so far downhill that they all just stand around and complain about their jobs and wait for quitting time. Ordered drinks after a 15 minute wait to do so....then ordered food. All mediocre except for the sliders. There was some sort of plastic material or otherwise unchewable material in the middle of the sliders. Disgusting. So disappointing as there was so much hope for this place.

Lunch with a friend at the Capital Grille was planned for geographic convenience on a cold rainy Wednesday and this was our first visit there. The sign on the main road leads you to believe that the entrance is nearby, but it's not. After finding a parking spot, I had to walk around the block in the rain to find the entrance. Very upscale, with a classy vibe and a stunning wine display as you enter, the service is top notch. Quickly seated and also quickly offered assistance, we ordered overpriced cheeseburgers. The food was "okay"... although visually impressive, the serving was small, the fries were not hot and the heavy-handed application of truffle was offputting. Would I go back after this experience? Probably not. There are just too many other choices offerring better value.
