This location just opened and it was the first week. The bar service was amazing and Andrea, Meagan and Shauna were so friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. We tried the calamari which was extremely spicy with hot peppers but very tasty, and the sliced filet with mushrooms and onions. They have a lovely outdoor seating area for when the weather gets cooler.

Visited because of a VIP invitation from AMEX. This was a pre-event before officially opening the place. The menu for the pre-event was limited, but the dishes are part of the main menu to be serve after opening.

Breads and butter are phenomenal. We had 4 types of breads and the touch of fleur de salt over the butter really made it for a perfect combination.

Wine list is long and impressive. We ordered a nice Pinot Noir from Oregon to highlight the meal to have.

For starters we ordered the steak tartare. I have had better steak tartare in the past. There were too many other ingredients with strong flavors that overpowered the taste of the steak. While I love capers and onion, they were too much in that dish, add the taste of the toasts and you will never know that you were eating raw steak if blinded folded. The only good part of the dish was the devil egg, that was great.

For main entrees we ordered the NY Steak medium rare and the Sliced Filet Mignon with mushrooms and onions, also medium rare. The NY steak was perfectly seared with a nice external flavor, cooked correctly to a medium rare. The Sliced Filet Mignon was also good, but not impressive.

For dessert we had the Coconut Banana Pudding. I am not much into Banana Pudding so it will be unfair for me to provide an opinion. I decided to tried it because of the place and it was the only dessert available with the limited menu. I am still not incline in ordering this dessert in the future.

Service was good but a little bit over whelming and rush not allowing us to talk during our meal. We got interrupted multiple times. At this level of dining and expense you should not be rush but they should allow you to have a nice dining experience.

Overall, visit was OK, if I would have had to pay for the whole meal, it would have been a disappointing one. I will wait a few months before going back and give it a try. Let the staff at the kitchen get it right and also the waitresses feel more comfortable at their jobs.

My husband and I were lucky enough to receive an invitation to participate this past weekend in a pre-opening event at The Capital Grille in the North Hills area of Raleigh. The area, itself, is an exciting, bustling, new, up-scale neighborhood with a wonderful eclectic mix of shopping, dining and apartments/condos. Just being there is exciting!! The Capital Grille is a fabulous addition to this area and, already, has all of the markings of the new "go to" upscale dining establishment. From the time we walked in, through dinner and until we left we were impressed with the smoothness of operation. From the lobby to the bar to the dining room, this restaurant is all first class! The menu, which was pre-selected especially for this event, was a wonderful mix of the "regular menu" available upon the restaurant's opening (which was today, July 11th). The wine list, which was presented on an interactive tablet, was very user friendly and made choosing a bottle of wine very easy. We started dinner with an Appetizer - the Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella with Vine Ripe Tomatoes which was, per my husband, who is a full-blooded New York Italian "the best he's ever had!" I definitely had to agree - it was prepared perfectly and was delicious! For our main courses, I chose the Seared Tenderloin with Buttered Poached Lobster Tails and my husband selected the Bone-In 22oz Ribeye. We both requested medium rare and medium rare it was - spot on! The Side To Share was Lobster Mac 'N' Cheese - scrumptious! Desert was a Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake which was the perfect end to this amazing dinner! The portions were huge and perfectly prepared and presented - very impressive! Kudos to Executive Chef Matthew McNeely, for this delicious first impression, our server, Hailey, for her wonderful service, Manager Shawn and the rest of the Capital Grille staff for their attentiveness. This was a definite 5 star experience. We are looking forward to planning our next dinner at our new favorite place!

The Maine Lobster Rolls were excellent. We had the clam chowder and my wife said its the best she's ever had.

Would highly recommend for special lunches. Pricey, but well worth it.

Also recommend using the valet parking, as parking can be difficult otherwise.
