We enjoyed a four-night stay and would definitely book here again the next time we are in the area. The rooms are nice and big and truly spotless with very comfy beds. The shower is amazing - excellent water pressure with four wall mounted body sprays in addition to a traditional shower head. Heaven!

The staff was terrific. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure our stay with them went well. We only had one breakfast at the hotel which was excellent.

All in all, I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Chapel Hill area!

Room Tip: Rooms in the back have less street noise, although the front rooms really aren't bad either.

I stayed at the Siena only once before in 2004 and it has since been beautifully renovated. Staff service is top-notch - that famous southern hospitality I loved in college is right at home at the hotel. Our King Deluxe room was spacious, clean and beautiful. We took advantage of the complimentary shuttle to downtown Chapel Hill to revisit old stomping grounds. The free wireless internet was a good speed - enough to watch some Netflix in our downtime. That's a rarity in our hotel experience. We will definitely stay again when we come back to the area!

The Siena Hotel is an odd property. It is (allegedly) designed to evoke the pleasures of Italy, but aside from some unusual furniture, it's pretty much a standard upscale hotel. Think "Olive Garden" Italian meets Marriott. The theme doesn't really work, but The Siena is a nice place to stay.

The rooms are large and all feature juliet balconies. It's the bathroom, however, where the hotel really stands out, specifically the shower. It's one of the best showers I've ever used. Large, great water pressure, glass enclosed and sheathed in marble. It's not just a shower; it's an experience.

The hotel is quiet and comfortable. Service is outstanding. Very warm and personal.

All things considered, I would choose the Carolina Inn over The Siena. Rooms are smaller at the Carolina, but it has more character, genuine charm, and a better location. And I just can't get beyond the cheesy "Italian" theme of The Siena.

We stayed 3 nights at the hotel while looking for universities. Very friendly smiley happy staff upon check in and through out our stay. Rooms nice and clean nice deco comfy beds. We had a corner room which we heard a little noise from the outside, my daughter (18) was down the corridor and she complained that the noise from outside from housekeeping was quite annoying in the morning. Room service was a bit limited if you are a vegetarian we ordered pasta one night with tomato sauce which was nice but then tried again on a different evening and was told on a Sunday and Monday night there were no pasta dishes. They offer a free shuttle service within a 5 mile radius so we used that which worked very well, walked to the University mall which was quite close. We had a nice stay there I would recommend it and stay there again.

Now, if only they would close the experience loop by hiring staff with genuine desire to see guests happy. There was nothing to complain about in the hotel staff, but with the exception of a very young bellman (Zach?) the staff (all quite young) had a "put on the smile, do the job, move em along" attitude. Even the smile lacked authenticity - name, room, request. Done!
Room was beautiful, location is ridiculously convenient (if you like exercise you can walk into town easily - we did it every day) and tons to see and do.
Stayed at another Autograph hotel on this same trip (Raphael in KCMO) and did not have the same experience of beauty and luxury. The Sienna wins our business again and again!
NOTE: We did not eat at the Chaz (no review for restaurant).
