Nothing fancy abut this place, located on Route 168. However, great seafood to be had. Prices are moderate to high ( for being a seafood market and restaurant ) but worth the price. Order and pay, then wait for your food to be prepared. Plenty of parking, restrooms available.

Unfortunately we arrived when they were quite crowded so it took a while. However, the seafood was fresh and very well prepared. I had the soft shell crab basket which had 3 small soft shells which were lightly breaded and sautéed. This restaurant knows how to prepare soft shells. My husband had the seafood platter. He reported the shrimp and flounder were lightly breaded and very tasty though he felt the crab cake had too much filler. Overall we were very pleased with this very casual seafood establishment where you order from the counter and then go to retrieve your food when you name is called.

Frog Island Seafood is not about ambience. Order it yourself, pick it up at the ready window, and if you want, sit down next to the viewing window into the cutting room and enjoy them trimming the fillets. It is tasty and is good value for the money. I don't go often, but am always glad when I do.

Very fresh seafood to take home to cook. Or, better still, order from the menu & let them do the cooking. Prices are reasonable, location easy--right on the highway.

I'm very discerning regarding seafood. Often the chain restaurants serve Vietnam sourced catfish or Asian shrimp or crab - such as Red Lobster, Capt D's, etc. There has been evidence of local crab suppliers mixing their domestic meat with foreign crab (not Blue Crab) The U.S.D.A. mandates what American farmed catfish are fed; no telling what Vietnamese feed their farm raised fish. So one can have a high degree of certainty Frog Island Restaurant serves fresh local fish, oysters, shrimp & crab.
