Good Location

This is a very convenient hotel for visiting the centre of Mirepoix, the rooms are of a good standard and reasonably sized, the ensuite is of good quality. Ours was very clean when we arrived and was kept that way throughout our stay.
The staff were helpfully and the lift was a bonus. Free parking right outside the hotel entrance. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night which was reasonably priced, large portions and hot, breakfast was limited and a bit expensive.
Down side, no tea making facility, only bath towels in the bathroom could have done with hand towels, TV has BBC channel that doesn't work and limited choice at breakfast.
Apart from those small items I would recommend this hotel.

This is now the third time of staying, and it hasn't disappointed. The rooms are comfortable and clean but lack atmosphere, but nevertheless you don't need all the whistle and bells for a nights sleep!!! The food is superb. Try the Lamb Pie, which is the chefs speciality, you will not be disappointed. The rest of the menu is typical french style, and plentiful, reasonably priced as is the wine list. All in all a sensible place to stay if you are in the area. We will be back.

We stayed there for 3 nights and it exceeded our expectations. Yes it is lacking in ambiance but the rooms are lovely and spacious, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, the breakfast was good and the staff were efficient. And it was absolutely spotlessly clean.

Our room was pleasant enough - spacious with good lighting and storage, and a spotless bathroom, but there is something soulless about this hotel.
This feeling was reinforced by the rather casual welcome and the take it or leave it attitude of most of the staff - unusual in France where the everyday courtesy is something to be especially appreciated.
Dinner was acceptable but lacked flair and we decided against eating at the hotel a second evening.
Breakfast was a plentiful buffet and reasonable value - a redeeming feature, together with ample parking, good Wifi and the short walk into the gem of a town.

If you enjoy good quality french food and regional wines, the hotel's restaurant is unbeatable! Portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable.

Mirepoix is within the region where foie gras is the traditional food and the restaurant serves a delightful starter of foie gras ( cunnard - duck's liver pate ). As with all foie gras, it is very fattening... but what the heck... you are in France!

Go the hotel's website to view their menu on line. Some dishes require 2 days advance notice.

The rooms are spacious. Just like what hotel rooms were like in the 90s in the USA like Holiday Inns. Fully carpeted and with air-conditioning ( heat for winter, cold for summer). Rooms facing west ( where the hotel's name is painted on the outside wall )
are about 75meters away from a road and a cemetery.. it did not bother us at all.
Rooms are clean and the toilet has good lighting, hair dryer, bath with shower.

As usual, 90% of hotels will not have shower curtains. The French seem to appreciate using just 1 swing panels made of glass to help prevent water splashing out while you shower. Mind you, if you shower vigorously, the floor will get awfully wet. (Unless you sit down... not appealing really ). Floor can get slippery... this is applicable to 90% of hotels in France... not just this one.

Otherwise, this is a hotel I will return if I am any where nearby.
There is a Super U ( the local chain supermarket ) just 5 mins walk from the hotel.
But dont buy perishables... some rooms dont have fridge.

The small town of Mirepoix is just 2 streets away... charming place and worth a 1 night stay at least. It can get very busy & crowded during peak seasons. We visited late April 2015.. it was almost empty!

Room tip: Some rooms overlooking car park will have views of an old cemetery.

Stayed a couple of nights with a very good room rate via booking .com. Room of decent size, all very new looking with a spacious spotless bathroom. Bed a bit hard for me, but that's just me, I guess. Bar area shared with breakfast paraphernalia so not a lot of sitting area but excellent Leffe blond on tap. 8 euro breakfast seemed good value, completely self service down to hot drinks from a machine but plenty of choice of sweet and savoury items in the usual French manner. Fresh oranges available to self squeeze too. I have stayed at Le Commerce, the other budget option, which is far worse in every way, except perhaps position. Would certainly return and recommend.
