If you enjoy good quality french food and regional wines, the hotel's restaurant is unbeatable! Portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable.
Mirepoix is within the region where foie gras is the traditional food and the restaurant serves a delightful starter of foie gras ( cunnard - duck's liver pate ). As with all foie gras, it is very fattening... but what the heck... you are in France!
Go the hotel's website to view their menu on line. Some dishes require 2 days advance notice.
The rooms are spacious. Just like what hotel rooms were like in the 90s in the USA like Holiday Inns. Fully carpeted and with air-conditioning ( heat for winter, cold for summer). Rooms facing west ( where the hotel's name is painted on the outside wall )
are about 75meters away from a road and a cemetery.. it did not bother us at all.
Rooms are clean and the toilet has good lighting, hair dryer, bath with shower.
As usual, 90% of hotels will not have shower curtains. The French seem to appreciate using just 1 swing panels made of glass to help prevent water splashing out while you shower. Mind you, if you shower vigorously, the floor will get awfully wet. (Unless you sit down... not appealing really ). Floor can get slippery... this is applicable to 90% of hotels in France... not just this one.
Otherwise, this is a hotel I will return if I am any where nearby.
There is a Super U ( the local chain supermarket ) just 5 mins walk from the hotel.
But dont buy perishables... some rooms dont have fridge.
The small town of Mirepoix is just 2 streets away... charming place and worth a 1 night stay at least. It can get very busy & crowded during peak seasons. We visited late April 2015.. it was almost empty!
