nice small hotel on the beach with pool. Excellent staff and food however the service was a little slow. Large portions so at lunch often split a meal. Took tour into town to Freddie Mercury's childhood home and the market and fish market. Also a trip to a spice farm which was interesting and fun.

My wife, 6 year old and I stayed at this wonderful resort on the way back to India from the USA.

It is a quiet, relaxing hotel with just 13 rooms, a restaurant with very scenic views and exemplary staff right from the operations manager (Mr Sekhar Malik) to every individual who works here - Supervisor Mr Issa, wait staff at the restaurant (Sophia, Laurencia, Resitituta & Nuru), the cleaning staff (Sophia and Leila) who go out of their way to assist you with a smile.

It was a relaxing place for one to slow down and enjoy Zanzibar, the food is excellent and it was a very convenient location for visiting stone town. The public beach is a blessing in disguise: it gives you access to locals, who are also very friendly, along with the security of the hotel.

One point to remember: Don't expect this to be a larger Marriott, think of it to be a boutique hotel where one can slow down and rejuvenate.

If I had a chance, I would definitely stay here again and have very fond memories of this place and the staff.

Room tip: Room 12 has great views

Stayed there for three nights. Very friendly and courteous staff. Shekhar was very responsive when I mailed him and upgraded us to the beautiful and charming suite as a courtesy due to my Platinum status with Marriott. The hotel is 10 mins by car from stone town, yet very peaceful and green. The food in the restaurant was average, although the breakfast was nice. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Very quiet - removed from stone town. Its not walking distance. But they do offer a free shuttle a few times a day. Nice private beach - perfect for a couple's weekend get away.

They should spray the rooms less - the constant spraying of disinfectant made my head hurt - I had to switch rooms. They were very accommodating but then wanted to spray the new room too. I don't think the staff understand how toxic that stuff is.

Some rooms were under construction while I was there - but it didn't bother me... there are only a dozen or so rooms so its a nice private hotel.

Very reasonably priced :)

Room tip: Ask them to NOT spray your room
