We stayed at the lovely executive room. The hotel has a unique authentic vibe and an excellent location. It's a walking distance from all the tourist attractions.
Breakfast is good and served on the roof.
Staff is very friendly.
Tip- the bed in the executive room is high, so if you don't have long legs prepare to jump on :)

This is a great choice if you wish a calm location with only 2 min to the beach and 2 min to the shops. The service of the new nepaleseborn manager and his staff is the best we had during our stay around Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar for 3 weeks. Breakfast was nice and included in the price, the staff made sure we were all ok in our company (8 persons) during our stay in Al-Minar for 3 nights. Nice and clean.

I had the chance to stay at Al-Minar on my way in and out of Zanzibar. It's a tidy, comfortable spot with everything close by. Located a quick walk from Kenyatta Road, Forodhani Gardens, and just about anything else you'll want to check out in Stone Town, Al-Minar is an ideal jumping off point for a visit to Zanizbar.

The staff is very thoughtful, always responsive, and a great resource for getting to know the area. Breakfast was excellent and the shaded rooftop restaurant a nice place to keep cool.

Overall, highly recommended!

When we arrived there, they served great juice and tower. And I could use the WIFI well. Twin room was little bit small for 3 peaple and they gave us only mattress for extra bed.. but it was ok! The breakfast also not bad~
