This motel could best be described as a golf course with lodging. The location is far off the beaten path and even though they have a restaurant, it was only open Thursday to Sunday. We were there on a Wednesday. I will mention that we did have a very nice hot, fresh-made, breakfast that was included in the room rate. We had reserved a Queen room. However, when we arrived, the owner suggested that the double bed rooms were nicer. She gave us keys to both rooms and we decided that she was right. But, let me point out that both rooms were just barely livable. The room was surface clean, but the carpet was stained and soiled. There was a small refrigerator under the sink, but iwe only felt comfortable putting our water and sodas in there. The shelves were cracked and rusty so we left our sandwiches and fruit in the cooler that we were traveling with. The furniture was vintage 70's, serviceable, but not inviting. The room had a front door and back door. Off the back door was a shared porch with two chairs per room. This was nice especially since occupancy was low and we had the whole porch to ourselves. One weird thing was that both doors had 5 small windows at the top of each door. I kept feeling that any tall person could gaze into the room and see right onto the bed. It also meant that the sun shone into the room in the morning. A little etching on these windows would go a long way to making me feel that I had a little more privacy. I will mention that the bed was very comfortable.

This is a family run facility and the owners are very nice and accommodating. We were traveling through the area and I relied on TripAdvisor reviews to settle on this place, but we were only staying one night so we stuck with our plan. If we need to be in he area again, though, we will select another place to stay.

The golf course is difficult and beautiful- the terrain is steep- the greens roll true- the scenery is the best- 360 degree views of the Catskills and I believe you can see so far there are glimpses of the Adirondacks. The pro shop and adjacent bar/restaurant are architectural quaint and rustic. The owners/employees were all very inviting- The cost of $50 for the round of golf and cart was more than fair. I think it nearly impossible to try and walk this course- you would need to be half billy goat. The only negative thing I can say is that we got a little lost going from 8 green to nine tee box- and going from 17 green to 18 tee box- Maybe a few more signs for first timers like us or at least a heads up at check in- other than that- we will definitely return.

Like a previous writer noted- bring a few extra balls- but for any balls we lost is the terrain- we probably found two- the fairways are narrow and sloping- takes a little getting used to - I am positive the next round we play there we will be a little better off with knowledge of the slope-

Most definitely- without question- one of the most interesting and beautiful layouts of mountain style golf I have ever played - and I have been swinging a club for over 45 years.

Room Tip: Bring a few extra golf balls.

Course is beautiful. Well kept. Mrs M and her family are lovely and so welcoming. never had a bad meal for breakfast or dinner. Bring lots of golf balls for those trick shots into the woods. Sometimes they come back sometimes they don't. Will be booking again for next year.

we go here often and the Maasmann family are wonderful. Toughest course we ever play so be warned but beautifully kept. Food wonderful, accommodation immaculately clean. Pool wonderful. Everyone and everything here is wonderful. Will be back soon as long as we are able to play such a difficult course! All the friends we went with loved it in the past and our latest trip.

Had a great time! The Maassmann family made us feel like family! Our room was nice and we had a good view of the mountains. Breakfast was included with the room and was very good, especially the french toast! Their restaurant for dinner, serves great German food. It is very quiet and peaceful there and we saw lots of birds, deer, chipmunks and a gopher! They are close to some great attractions.
Peter the golf pro and his staff are very friendly and keep the course in great shape! Awesome mountain views from 9th &17th holes! They have an outdoor pool and it is clean and very refreshing. There is a shuffleboard, bocce, and horseshoes area.
I can't wait to come again when the trees change their colors in the fall! It will be very spectacular!

Room Tip: Seems all rooms have mountain views, some are closer to pool
