We visited Aeble back in August. Loved it. What we loved about Aeble was the simple fact that the food was - well - simple. Nothing was overdone, precious and overthought. Instead it's just - excellent. Tonight was no exception. Two of us started with the steak tartare which was probably one of the best we have ever had (and this coming from someone who makes his own). The other had the cauliflower salad which was also outstanding - fresh, crisp and full of amazing flavors. The same person had the Pork and Hominy Stew and rated it fantastic. The other two shared friend chicken - a whole bird divided into parts, but creating a light, crispy crust (no KFC here) with a spicy hot sauce or may on the side. The accompanying fresh cole slaw was spot on - not your summer BBQ cole slaw dripping in goopy mayonaise but crunch and well seasoned. Thanks to Charles for the superlative service and F for the exceptional drinks. Cocktails started with an Elderflower Old Fashioned and a handmade Gin & Tonic (you just have to ask). Another phenomenal dinner - and we already have plans for our New Year's weekend dinner here. Aeble is JUST THAT GOOD!
