Superb Customer Service, Clean Spacious Rooms

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 9 Apr 2018via mobile
We have no prior reservations but managed to booked 3 standard rooms for an overnight stay. Staff was quick enough to set up additional beddings requested. Price from their website needs updating. Breakfast was filling enough, loved the apple pancakes! :)

Ww stayed for a week at Mango Valley 3 while diving with Boardwalk Dive Center which is conveniently in the same building.
Hotel is good for Philippines standard, lots of breakfast options however more geared to local or Asian guests. Forget muesli or yoghurt, but fruit, various meaty dishes, loads of carbs, toast etc, and reasonable coffee. Nothing to report home about but good enough.
Rooms are clean and spacious, service is good. Overall very good.
Dive shop is tech ready, very helpful staff. They carry your equipment to the boats. Needless to say the diving is on wrecks, so being a tech dibe shop is useful. The shop has actually useful stuff to buy in good quality and low prices. The boats are very good. The only odd thing is you have to walk yo the beach two blocks. No biggie, but a bit annoying of camera is heavy.

The hotel is nice and neat. Cozy and budget friendly. Room is spacious as well as the bathroom. Good enough for family/group travelers just a place to spend the night. Breakfast Buffet is nothing fancy just the typical Filipino breakfast. Staff are courteous and friendly.

Have stayed here dozens of times over past three years. While it’s a reasonable value, many recent stays have been frustrating because towels are not in the room well after the 2pm check in time & WiFi often doesn’t work.

After a pathetic response from the green short/white shirted guy who took me to the room about ‘where are the towels?’ Uh, later, I complained to front desk and waited for about five minutes while various people scurried around giving me first what looked like a bath at and then eventually towels.

Seriously, how hard can it be to have clean towels in the rooms by the 2pm check in time?!

Me, my wife and daughter stayed at Mango Valley 1 for 3 nights in January. We were given room #3 on the 2nd floor which is one of the oldest rooms at Mango Valley. The room is OK in size but, the floors are wood, the CR has a commercial style toilet and the showers water pressure was very low. I guess for about 2,000 PHP per night you shouldn't expect much more. Overall the staff was pleasant and helpful. The included buffet breakfast was limited but, the food we had was good.

PROS - Good location, cheap, breakfast was good.
CONS - The room we stayed in was old, the floors squeak, shower pressure was low, the water was not that hot, the toilet sounds like a freight train when you flush it and the hotel is too close to a main road. Too much car noise from the road.

Room tip: Stay in one of the newer Mango Valley buildings or ask for one of the new rooms at Mango Valley 1.

There are actually three separate buildings for this hotel and we stayed in the 3rd one.

I'm alone in the room with a double and a single bed. Seems to be spacious. The room price is cheap and I think you get more than what you paid for. There's TV with cable, toiletries and towels. Water pressure is good. My only misgivings are the AC - I can't seem to operate the remote well so I had to manually turn it off when I feel the need to - & the cracks on the walls, floor and windows. It's probably because of poor construction methodology and not related to the safety of the structure. You also get to have your own table and chairs inside.

Your view is a building under construction (I was assigned at one of the rooms at the rear).

I didn't get to eat at the restaurant in the first building (seems to the host the suite rooms) but the place is fairly near the dining areas and a decent mall - Harbor Point.

I'm giving it an average. But against other hotels at this price point, I would give it upwards of 4.
