Frank Guido has three restaurants in the Hudson Valley and each of them have something unique to offer the dining patron. We chose the Catskill restaurant for a birthday celebration on a hot and humid October fall day. The restaurant sits on the Hudson River with gentle breezes and a lovely view of Dutchess County. The menu is a little different from the restaurants in Kingston New York, which was a welcome surprise. We enjoyed a seasonal squash soup, and and a Little Neck clam special for appetizers. The Shrimp Fresca entree had great flavor. Fresh warm bread, generous house salad with a cranberry vinaigrette was excellent. One of the diners enjoyed a classic Caesar salad with shrimp, and the shrimp was grilled to perfection. A restaurant for the casual diner and the weekend boater (dock alongside the restaurant) make this a great destination for the summer and fall season. And if you're at this restaurant, you need to go across the street to Dutchman's Park. With beautiful views of the Catskill Bridge, Dutchess County (and Olana Mansion) and the Hudson River, it's a great place to relax on a full stomach!
