The accommodation of the Old Mill is excellent; nothing smart and luxurious, but good and suitable to the old world charm of the rooms. We stayed in a one bedroomed unit with a separate lounge area. There was free firewood and the fireplace created a warming atmosphere, both literally and figural speaking. Since it was a cool night and morning, the extra warm water during the morning shower was great. I can really recommend the accommodation.
The restaurant is on site and serves traditional dishes of the area such as venison pie, lamb curry and bobotie (a curried mince meat dish). The wine selection is good, albeit on the pricy side. I am always surprised that local restaurants overcharge on local produce such as the local wines on the wine list. The food was on the average side, nothing bad but nothing out of the culinary encyclopedias.
I spite of this, I can recommend the venue and will certainly return to it.More
