Review of The Hoek

The Hoek
Description: Off the beaten track quirky little espresso bar - popular with the locals - all the usual espresso based coffees, including the ever popular flat white, are pulled by trained baristas using Cape Town based Deluxe Coffeeworks house blend beans. Loose leaf teas by Lady Bonin's tea parlour, red espresso, hot chocolate, chai and local juices are also on offer as well as a range of cookies, biscottis, rusks and croissants. The Hoek has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where you might find yourself chatting to the person sitting at the table next to you or finding a quiet corner to make use of the free wifi.

Visiting The Hoek, on Sundays with my family, and boyfriend for a quick coffee, has become something we all look forward to. Unfortunately we haven't been able to go every Sunday, of late, due to us all working, but if we could, we'd definitely. I love going there, as does my family.

This Sunday, we went, for a coffee, and I of course, for the best hot chocolate in town. The staff, as always are incredibly friendly, know our individual orders off my heart. It's always fun seeing locals there, chatting to each other, while enjoying our lovely drinks. Now that the colder weather is coming in, the warm beverages are an absolute must, before we venture on into the new week. I personally think, that the hot chocolate just keeps getting better, and better each time we go.

We often tell tourists, and friends to go for a cuppa, as we feel, it's the best in town.

To the management : Please tell your staff to keep up the fantastic work!

Thank you for such a lovely coffee spot, that makes locals feel at home, and tourists get a true sense of Franschhoek.

If I could, I'd rate it 6,because 5 does not do justice!

Kind regards,
Tayy

Found just around the corner of the main road, this coffee spot is quiet and relaxing with amazing coffee. Well worth a visit as a break while you explore the town.

You will find this delightful little espresso bar just off the main street on Daniel Hugo street. Only a hundred yards or so from the Wine Tram ticket office. Friendly staff and a nice bohemian atmosphere. One of the best coffees we have had in South Africa.
