We booked the winemakers dinner at the Franschhoek Kitchen as it seemed like a good idea for the first evening of our South African holiday. We arrived and were greeted with a glass of the Holden Manz rose, which was the best rose we've had during our entire stay. There was a 4 course meal, during which I've discovered that I can eat scallops when they are made into a delicious carpaccio. Each course was excellent and had different wines. On the evening we went there were Marianne, Holden Manz and Vergelegen. All 3 were presenting fabulous wines.
It needs to be said that I've had the best dessert of all times during this dinner. 4 different variations of raspberries with different variations of chocolate. I'm still amazed by how much I enjoyed it. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
By the was this wasn't our first visit to Holden Manz, personally I think it's one of the most beautiful wine estates around Franschhoek and produces a port, which is to die for.
