This restaurant receives rave reviews
I found the atmosphere and ambiance Stark. Granted you may not be here for that. However at these prices some softer lighting a carpeted floor would make a huge difference. Some sound deadening.
The service staff was very good friendly and very professional!
A nice menu we chose the lobster bisque
To start which was done properly and was good. We chose the shelled lobster special served in edible pastry over a crab cake spinach and mashed potatoes
I’ve had this dish at other restaurants in the area. Always good though here The lobster was cooked to perfection !however the crab cake while very meaty with little filler was bland
Cost $50. Outrageous! This is a byob restaurant! Desserts were good though not extraordinary.
It’s a place you need to try though one try is enough for my pocket book $221. For 3 people No booze 1 coffee 1 bottle of sparkling water only 2 desserts.

Nice menu, decent atmosphere, good service. Almost everything we had was very good with the exception of the pistachio crusted salmon. It was overcooked, bitter and lacked flavor. The blood orange sauce added nothing to the dish and the coconut rice had no flavor. Also, the poached pear salad was tasty, but whole hazelnuts, what gives?? Have you ever tried to get a hazelnut on a fork? Come on. Why aren't they chopped?
Other than that, everything was quite good. We also had three desserts and all were delicious.
We will probably return.

We ate at Poached Pear with another couple that had dined there previously (and had spoken highly of the restaurant). We weren't disappointed. Service was excellent and the food was terrific. Seafood entrees featured very fresh fish and shellfish. The dining room is comfortable and simply appointed. We'll be back!

This was our first visit to the Poached Pear. Everything was really good (butternut squash/sweet potato soup and key lime pie dessert were standouts). But what really impressed us is that they have made a conscious effort to keep the noise down. Dinner Saturday night at so many places winds up being a shouting match, as restaurants crowd in as many tables as possible in trendy, but echoing decor. Poached Pear has incorporated sound-attenuating elements, and it really enhances the experience.

Highly recommended. We’ll be back.

We have heard about this restaurant since it opened and haven't had the opportunity to visit. Sorry it took us this long. Special birthday Saturday dinner that they honored our reservation. Service was impeccable with our Brazilian server whose name I don't remember. Friendly, knowledgeable and unobtrusive, perfect. My rack of lamb was very good, the reduction as good as I have ever had. The halibut was from a different planet and I will go back specifically to order it. Small birthday treat ended a great dining experience. Not cheap, but worth it.
