We have heard about this restaurant since it opened and haven't had the opportunity to visit. Sorry it took us this long. Special birthday Saturday dinner that they honored our reservation. Service was impeccable with our Brazilian server whose name I don't remember. Friendly, knowledgeable and unobtrusive, perfect. My rack of lamb was very good, the reduction as good as I have ever had. The halibut was from a different planet and I will go back specifically to order it. Small birthday treat ended a great dining experience. Not cheap, but worth it.

While visiting the area, friends suggested we have dinner here. The menu offers many selections, and there were several specialties on Saturday evening. The food was quite good and the servings were quite large. The service was good. Beware, though, that this is a BYOL restaurant: we were not used to this feature but our friends were and brought wine with them; the restaurant graciously serves it. Our only complaint was the high level of noise. Yes, the room was full, on a Saturday evening, but it has very little sound deadening and we had so much trouble talking to one another that any recommendation must include this warning.

Finally tried The Poached Pear and enjoyed it tremendously. I am adventurous when it comes to dining at a nice restaurant. I had the crab cakes which I love and these were fantastic. The mushroom appetizer was great if you are into them. The restaurant filled up quick and reservations are a must. My husband enjoyed it as well and he had the NY strip steak. We are looking forward to going again.

We were always looking for a great restaurant near Point Pleasant and finally found one. Not sure why we took so long to find it. All entrees were excellent. We wanted to try the soup but didn't want to fill up prior to the main entree. They split the soup into two small bowls. Very accommodating. A little pricey but acceptable since it is a BYOB. We are going to go back in the fall.

The poached Pear has outstanding food, with unique recipes loaded with layers of flavor. The garlic shrimp is actually cooked, topped with a creamy sauce with roasted pepper all resting on a bruschetta type piece of toast. The lobster special looks like something out of a magazine. A 1 1/2 pound lobster sits a top a crab cake, inside a fried, lightly crisp wonton shell. Every bite is perfectly cooked and delicious! The cheesecake was very good, and clearly homemade. The kitchen forgot my salad's dressing, but with the appetizers, dinners, and desserts being so far above any other restaurant, I have to rate them with all five stars.
