The arrival to the hotel was the classic accommodating Hilton experience I enjoy. Unfortunately, when we found the "king suite" that we were paying premium pricing for, it did not seem to come close to the value. This hotel is not walking proximity to anything and there was no reason for pricing that exceeds Times Square by $100 a night. Although the check-in receptionist was very kind, all other staff members appeared to be inconvenienced by any request or my mere presence. We were required to work around housekeeping staff that occupied all elevators and would not move their carts so we could share. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk that we located dirt and used under garments (not ours) in our room, she laughed and said that we should just make sure we leave the room long enough for house keeping to clean. When I asked if they could clean the room at an accommodating time, the front desk refused to work with me. Breakfast services were standard and the entire situation was comparable to Holiday Inn Express. HOWEVER, when I brought some of my concerns to the General Manager at check-out, she was very kind and provided compensation for my first night. I appreciate the GM and her attempt to reconcile my poor experience. I will not return to this Hilton hotel when I am in the area and would prefer the extra...The arrival to the hotel was the classic accommodating Hilton experience I enjoy. I will not return to this Hilton hotel when I am in the area and would prefer the extra drive to stay at the Doubletree despite it is expected lower class. It would be cheaper and more worthwhile to stay in NYC then take NJ Transit to the area.More
