Original estate of the tobacco Dukes. Mr. Duke wanted to be near NYC for business, Ms Duke wanted nothing to do with NJ and wanted to stay south. The fenced in section of the estate is the main property which includes roadways around the many pounds used to provide water, the foundation of the home that was never built (stories say they took his steel for the war effort others the wife said no). Tree lined roadways give you the feel in sections of the old south leading up to ones home. The area outside the fence was the old barn where they kept various animals, some not native to the region. This is also full of more trials. Bike riding is a good form of transportation or if you enjoy long walks be comfortable. No dogs allowed.

Lot of trails for a quiet walk for hours! Also in the spring and summertime you can rent bicycles for less than 5 bucks, it helps and you can see pretty much every inch of duke farms beautiful scenery!

This is a Gem to enjoy strolling or even better to see and explore on a bicycle.
This 250 acre estate has sprawling grounds featuring waterfalls, fountains, a Japanese Garden, old estate structures, botanical gardens, greenhouse, water ponds and more.
There are paved roadways winding through the large property and grass pathways as well.
It is generously provided Free to the public to enjoy!

I spent a wonderful morning meandering through Dukes Farms. When I was leaving I thought perhaps I should have rented a bike but the last time I rode one was ages ago.
