Went with a business partner I had Veal Parm and my partner had a Chicken Buffalo sandwich. Besides a very comfortable atmosphere our waitress was tremendous, friendly, and on her top game. The food and drinks were excellent very tasty and plentiful for a really good price. Cant wait to try there pizza, if its anything like there lunch than I know I will be more than satisfied. WTG San Marzano Trattoria you made a new customer for life

San Marzano is very conveniently located in Freehold with its own parking lot. The waitstaff were very attentive and friendly without being overbearing and we had water and bread within two minutes of sitting down. The menu is a great mix of classic Italian and interesting/innovative dishes and specials. We got a pizza with a lemon drizzle, arugula, parmesan, avocado, and prosciutto (on just half, since I'm vegetarian). When they wrapped up my leftover salad, they provided extra dressing to take with it. We went on Thursday and stayed till almost close, and when they brought us our check they also brought us two complementary loaves of bread to take home!

I have been a patron of San Marzano since they opened and they have remained the top 5 for our family of 5. Had a very bad experience last night with our party of 7 on a birthday dinner for my youngest daughter. The seated us on a 5:45 reservation between 2 enormous and loud groups. One was a 10 year old girl's birthday party w/ approx 20 screaming, squealing, singing girls and the other was about the same size a - multiple families also w/ young children and infants. Not has loud but distracting to be in such close proximity. The next thing I noticed was the average price on the entrees had gone up about $6. Finally they had curtained off about 1/4 of the seating space for a private party. We waited a LONG time for our entrees. I had to ask the wait staff several times where our food was. In the meantime an elderly couple came in, they were seating far away from the fray and server well before us. When the food finally arrived the waitress apologized and said the 2 parties were getting all the attention from the kitchen. Just what we wanted to hear. I did not recognize any of the wait staff and they all appeared young and inexperienced. So that combined w/ the enormous parties (3 total including behind the curtain) and the price increase on the menu lead me to believe this is all a money grab for San Marzano. The food was about the same level of quality - very good, but they certainly fall out of #1 for my family and as the discerning Father who pays the bill, they are off my depth chart entirely.

We have eaten here many times and ordered in. The food is always good. The house salad dressing is awesome order extra to dip your bread in.
You won't be disappointed.
