If you must go on a Saturday night, request the outdoor seating. I had dinner with my husband and another couple this past Saturday. The food was very good but the noise level in the dining area was ridiculous. After seeing a few other reviewers comment on the noise, we made reservations for 5:30 to try to beat some of the crowds. The noise level was tolerable until about 6:15. As the restaurant filled with diners, the noise increased to the point that we felt that we were screaming at each other just to talk, and then we just stopped talking and ate our food, which was delicious. The menu offers some excellent options: sea bass, blackened swordfish and scallop dishes were great! Contrary to other reviews, the service was very good, but don't go if you are in a rush.

Have been coming to Blue Water for years. The food has been consistently good. They used to have a fresh seafood counter but that is gone, giving space for more tables. Parking lot is small but they have valet service on weekends. During the week you might find yourself looking for parking at Denny’s next door.
There is a standard menu and a Specials menu. Prices are high for the area with most dishes north of $30. There are less expensive choices in the mid twenties. Clam chowder was pretty good, mussels excellent. I ordered a special of Day Boat stuffed scallops, stuffed with crab and served over a lobster risotto. $35. A little disappointed that there were only 3 scallops but they were very good.
Service was very good. The restaurant is very dark. You will be using your phone light to see menu and food. Noise level is very high. BYOB.

We were celebrating my wife's birthday. We came to restaurant because of its food and ambiance. As many of you followers know, I write accurate statements about each eatery that we visit. It is important for those who would like to visit understand the impression of each visit. This evening started off very poorly. The parking lot is full of craters because the asphalt has not been repaved or the holes filled in to prevent people from stumbling toward the entrance. (See picture below)

My wife has a handicap sticker on her car for a reason. Although there is valet parking, we were stuck to walking through the parking lot. The handicap parking near the entrance was used by the owner for parking rather than patrons. (See picture below) The sign was removed for that purpose. Using the handicap ramp, the slate tiles were broken and uneven as was the concrete walkway. Heavy mats were placed over portions of the broken slate tiles but it did not cover everything to prevent people who are handicapped from tripping and falling. (See picture below)

Once inside, our waiter graciously seated us but we soon discovered the cold air entering the dining area as other patrons came inside. It was very dark inside with only a few corner lamps. The overhead lighting did not work according information given to us because their was an electrical problem that needed to be fixed. They gave some excuse as to needing a permit and it would be fixed soon. We had to use our cell phones to read the menu because it was that dark. The waiter lit a few oil candles but the amount of light was not for reading but for atmosphere.

The interior of the restaurant was updated and modern. The number of tables and arrangement of the tables made it difficult for the waitstaff to walk and more difficult for patrons move around. The waitstaff was very professional and attentive. Once our order was placed, the food was delivered hot and fresh. The presentation was above average as well.

The food quality was average far less than expected from a high end restaurant. If this restaurant was located in Manhattan, it would not be in business too long. My dish came with paella, lobster, shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels, chorizo sausage, and spinach. The flavor in this dish was lacking. It should have given me such a WOW experience but it was disappointing. The paella was not mixed properly and their were too much salt in certain portions. There was little chorizo, in fact, only four pieces and less on clams - one. It was mostly mussels and paella. Not a great meal for $38.

My wife had the sea scallops. While most were cooked correctly, there were a few that were under cooked. No to the point being raw but they were definitely under cooked. According to her, the flavor was good. It was important that she liked everything for her birthday. As a food critique and rater of restaurants, the rating was more generous than real.

The cheesecake was superb. The flavor and texture was spot-on. The coffee was also average at best. If only the rest of the meal and atmosphere could be the same. All in all, this is was a very sub-par experience for a high end restaurant. Many improvements are needed to achieve the status it could be, if it were managed properly.

Blue Water Seafood boasts a large selection of fresh seafood all superbly crafted. In addition to skillfully prepared, mouth watering offerings, the location also offers a seafood market that has a great selection and is so fresh it will enhance any DIY dish.
For those non-piscivore (yes, I looked it up) patrons, they have tasty chicken and steak dishes.
It is pricey, close seating so ambience leaves someting to be desired, often crowded, often used for power meetings. Attentive, friendly staff. Ample parking.

We have not visited, I’d say for about 4 years. I was looking forward to a great meal. The food was great, large assortment, service was good. Prices were as expected.

However: with the restaurant 1/8 full of patrons the noise was very loud. Lighting was poor, food difficult to see. The ambient candle on the table kept going out. The room was very noisy. So the next time we visit it will not be during “busy” times.

Note: If you plan to visit use ear plugs!!
