My husband and I had often seen signs for this gem in the rough restaurant many times as we've gone down to Point Pleasant, and had always said that we would like to go there for dinner one night but it just never came up. So we want to try someplace different for anniversary and my husband suggested the shipwreck grill. Everything was wonderful the appetizers the lobster bisque soup was absolutely delicious and felt like Velvet on the tongue. The entrées were delicious cooked to perfection and uniquely served with different types of vegetables and lentils. Although we really didn't have room for dessert, the waitress was so wonderful giving us an anniversary surprise. It was delicious dessert with ice cream and fresh fruit absolutely delicious and a wonderful surprise. My only critique would be the "bussing" staff when refilling the water glasses don't reach for the glass in front of the customer walk around to the side of the table and pick up the glass from there!
We will definitely be back!

This is not a cheap night out, but you will enjoy the cloth covered tables and superior service. Top shelf alcohol makes your drinks quite good. They have a happy hour 4-6 on weekdays, but when it comes to food, the choices are very limited. The small plate shrimp scampi is a good choice at $14.

They have a great menu but if you go on a Monday night for dinner they offer a whole lobster with corn and potatoes for $20, same price as just the tail any other night.
The servers are nice but the busboys are not very experienced.
The food presented well and tasted great.
Not much of a view but if you are on the porch you can see the bridge past the parking lot.
They have a good dessert menu and provide bread with your meal.
I would return again.

What a great eating experience! All the places in Point Pleasant Beach had waiting lines a mile long, so I headed north over the bridge. So glad I did. We were seated right away and greeted by a nice waitress with a happy attitude, a great start. Cocktails were perfect, clams on the half shell among the best ever.
The entrees were outstanding, mine seared tuna with sesame crust, rare was the best I have had, tuna fresh and flavorful and the crust was distinct not old seeds served over a delicious red cabbage. My wife's shrimp scampi was top of the chart as well, cooked perfectly, not overdone and the garlic complimented not overpowering.
The kitchen is obviously filled with talent! A little pricey but worth the visit for special occasions!

As a local resident, I have visited Shipwreck Grill multiple times and have always found the food to be very good, certainly better than average, especially given the area. It is one of the finer restaurants in southern Monmouth / northern Ocean counties. It does not, however, compare to a New York restaurant... but, then again, very few - if any - in this area do.
