“Lovely quiet wooded walk”
Review of Tourne County Park

Came here on a brisk saturday afternoon for a walk. Easy places to park and a choice of trails - I took the longest trail which took me an hour at a fast pace, also stopped off at a lake which was beautiful. - Lots of trees in lovely colours. Most walks are less at 30 mins or so.
Quiet but do walk past the back of a lot of houses which doesn't make it very 'remote'

I live nearby and frequent The Tourne. A place to hike with a spectacular view from the top of the hill. Good for birdwatching with lots of flora and fauna. The Tourne also has an extension on the Old Denville rd side of the park that leads to more fields and trails leading to the Rockaway River.
The picnic area and ball field are enjoyable for families. The road leading up the hill is lots of fun during the winter for sleigh riding.
A special place in my heart filled with great memories.

The Tourne in Morris County is a definite place to visit if you wish to enjoy all that nature has to offer. There are hiking trails for all abilities... climbing upwards to the top of Tourne for some wonderful sites, flat paths, paths winding through the woods passing swamp land and of course the wildflower garden carefully fenced to keep the deer out. You can picnic and enjoy a game of baseball if you want while the young tikes enjoy the playground train. A definite place to go during any season.

When there in a group at the pavilion and we had a wonderful time. While we were there, we had the opportunity to take a walk in nature and it was great.
