Our son had recommended this pub/restaurant a number of times and so when a Travelzoo voucher came up which for £25 two people got a starter and main, it was a no brainer. 8 of us visited and we just couldn't fault this place. John and Amy who served us were second to none when it came to service and the food was exceptional.
I am now sitting on my sofa recovering from trying to finish the last morsel of food it was that good. Thank you so much to all of the staff. WE WILL BE BACK!!!

Recommended by friends we weaved our way through narrow lanes on the north downs, aided by our satnav, to find this lovely Shepherd and Neame pub in the quaint village of Eastling.

Our friends were sat at our window table and we settled down for a quiet and relaxing lunch at this comfortable pub, albeit wondering why so few others had done the same thing.

My wife and I went for the Sea Bass on a herb mash topped off with Asparagus spears that looked every bit as good as it tasted, and cost £16.95 each. Friends had the Liver and bacon, and beer battered fish and chips at £11.95 and £10.95 respectively.

Service was fast and friendly, adding to the experience and making this a must return venue. Our group of four paid £80 including tip for a memorable Friday lunch in great surroundings.

When returning to our cars in the neighbouring car park we understood why it was so quiet inside with many hardier folk enjoying their meals in the pleasant gardens behind the pub. Do pay this fine pub a visit, you will not be disappointed.
