Elk Lake was our gathering spot for my daughter's wedding. What an excellent choice! We were treated like kings and queens from start to finish. Laurel and Jake have surrounded themselves with an excellent staff and together they provided us with the most delicious meals, friendly service and helpful advice on where to go hiking and fishing. Swimming and boating was also available. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. Wonderful memories were made by all! The unpaved road after leaving the main highway was a bit challenging but worth it at the destination.

We brought our grandchildren to elk lake lodge for a fishing vacation, The fishing was slow, but our experience was really great. The resident dog and the tire swing over the creek were big hits! The cabin was clean and quaint and the beds were so comfortable, we overslept every morning. Jake and Laurel were very friendly and helpful and when we left, the kids said that elk lake lodge was "the best place ever".

We enjoyed meeting all of you! Thank you for your kind words and also for picking up all that fruit for us in West. That was a huge help. Your grandkids were so well behaved and a delight to have around. I think our dog got a little depressed when you left. :-)

Love this place. We have been there three times and will come back every year. Cute and clean cabins, awesome dining room and free breakfast, hiking, fishing, and relaxing are the orders of the day. The owners treat you like family. Really neat cowboy bar, pool table and fireplace lounge. Miles of dirt road to get there but worth it for the views and amenities. Fishermen should check out Hidden Lake which is a four mile jeep ride away. Boats available to rent at Elk and Hidden Lake. One of my favorite places in the world.

I've stayed three times and am going back in July with 8 family members to fish. It won't be the last trip for sure. Clean and comfortable cabins, great food, fantastic scenery, and a quaint cowboy bar to boot. Craig and Lerina and Laurel and Jake truly treat you like friends. Elk lake is and continues to be an annual destination for our family.

Elk Lake Lodge is a perfect place for anyone seeking a quiet oasis in a wilderness landscape. The setting is gorgeous, with great mountain views. Nearby walks are colored by multiple kinds of wildflowers. We found one we'd never seen before--a rare calypso orchid, or fairy slipper. The meadow the seven cabins encircle is filled with blue birds; elsewhere we saw trumpeter swans, tanagers, sandhill cranes, many other birds. Our cabin was comfortable and cozy. Craig and Lerrina were helpful and the food was terrific; they even let you split an entree, a good idea since they are ample. Rent a boat, head across the lake, and hike up to the top of Elk Mountain for a great 360 view.

Room tip: Cabins 1-3 have a creek behind them, creating great gurgling sounds.

We are glad you had such a nature-filled stay. It helps that Elk Lake is so close to the Red Rock Lakes Bird Refuge, for sure. Thank you for your generous review.
