This hotel is wonderful. It's ideally off of Interstate 494 and a very short distance to Mall of America. We had a great time. The evening reception had veggies and chips with salsa. Also had a variety of drinks. I enjoyed the made to order omlettes in the morning.

Wonderful hotels attract wonderful guests! Thank you for sharing your experience for others to read about. We're lucky to be in the ideal location...close enough to everything but not too close. I'm glad you had a great time while visiting the area and if there's anything I can do for you in the future, don't hesitate to contact me directly. Thanks again!

We stopped at this hotel on a family road trip, and all 12 of us were very pleased with our stay. The rooms were large and comfortable, particularly the beds. The hotel hosted a complimentary happy hour that was very generous, and breakfast the next morning was delicious--such a variety of food that was refilled continually. We even had dinner in their small restaurant and it was very good too. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The front desk staff was helpful and kind. We requested an early check in and got it. Our rooms had an odd smell in them. Maintenance replaced the filthy air filters in one room. The other room had clean air filters but still smelled stinky. Two containers of odor absorbing crystals were placed in that room. They camouflaged the smell but did not remove it. Both rooms had worn furniture and decorating. We were told that all rooms had been updated. The bedding was OK not great though. Although the front desk did ask about our stay, their only reply on the smell was to contact maintenance. We had contacted maintenance three times during the first hour of our stay. The problem was not fixed just camouflaged for our stay. The next guests will have the same stinky problem.

The small kitchenette area was sufficient enough to have coffee while getting ready.
The Manager's Reception had chips/salsa and veggies/dip for food. One bartender made well drinks. There was lots of seating.

The cooked to order breakfast including omelettes was delicious and plentiful. There were NO booster chairs or high chairs for babies or toddlers in the entire area though.

Although there is a restaurant/bar in the hotel, there is NO SIGNAGE to direct you to that area. You literally have to wander around and find it. We had a quick lunch there. The service and food were good.

We generally stay at HILTON properties. Embassy Suites in Bloomington did not impress us. Considering all the hotels in the area, we will choose to stay elsewhere on future trips.

Room Tip: Higher floor away from elevator for quiet sleeping

We just checked into the embassy suites and ten minutes later, we checked out. When we first arrived the individual later identified herself as the manager was rude and obnoxious. We then went to our room and there was no air conditioning. We called the front desk and was informed that there was only one other room but that the air conditioning was not working in that room. Obviously, someone in that room complained about the air conditioning and was able to switch rooms as otherwise the hotel would not have known about the problem with the air conditioning. When I asked as to why I was not informed at check in about the air conditioning, I really did not receive a response. We ended up leaving the hotel right after we checked in and went to another hotel. There are so many hotels in the area. We have stayed and this hotel before but it appears they are having issues. Just go to a different hotel first so you do not have to have the same experience.

Hi James,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us during your trip to Bloomington and for being a loyal guest. I apologize for the AC issues you encountered at check-in and the attitude of the front desk. I was disappointed to see were not able to come up with some type of solution to ensure you received the type of experience you have come to expect at the Embassy Suites. This was far from our standard and will be used as a learning opportunity to help us grow. Thanks again for your feedback. If you would like to discuss your stay in further detail, please feel free to contact me directly.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times, and the recent renovations have given this hotel a fresh, modern look. There is another Embassy Suites closer to the Airport/Mall of America, but this one is not quite as busy and the staff is fantastic.

Some ongoing summer road work on Interstate 494 may impact your travels in this area, so be aware and use your GPS w/traffic.
