Walking from Henley to Sonning along the Thames path and stopped here for refreshments. A nice pub with engaging staff. It’s a free house, so something different on tap. A good looking menu but we only had a quick snack of chipolatas in honey and mustard with a small bowl of sweet potatoes fries. We also had a small portion of bbq ribs. Our friends had a lovely open sandwich with some sweet potato fries. We have been here many times and always recommend it to our guests and visitors who want to walk along the Thames Path.

We stayed two nights and had dinner and breakfast. You can't fault this place. It's in a beautiful location, the rooms are well stocked and comfortable, the food delicious but most of all the service was exemplary. They just couldn't do enough for us, every detail remembered, it's possibly the friendliest hotel I've ever stayed in.

as always we walked from Henley to Shiplake knowing The Baskerville was at the end of our journey. It was a beautiful day so the walk by the river and through the trees as the leaves are starting to turn was great.
We arrived at the pub, the restaurant was full, the garden bathed in sunshine with all new tables and chairs and we had a quick drink before lunch.
The service was great and the roast delicious. Our daughter wasn't so keen on the fish n chips but I think this is just because it was beer battered.
The wine list is always great if a bit pricey these day. I found a very good Chilean Pinot Noir for £26.
We keep coming back so what more can I say

What a lovely restaurant/ hotel

When we arrived we were greeted with friendly faces and a really warm welcome.

The food was amazing. We had a lovely Sunday Lunch and the food was fresh and cooked to perfection.
The room was spotlessly clean and really comfortable.

The breakfast was amazing too with a huge selection of freshly cooked food from a full English and I mean full....to Eggs Benedict and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. You certainly won't leave hungry.

Kevin told us what there is to do in the area and really couldn't do enough for us

We would highly recommend this lovely pub/hotel and we will definitely be going back. It's worth the drive for the food alone.

Walked in from Henley and ate in the garden. Two chicken, ham and leek pies with fresh veg and chips. All very tasty. Good service to the table and at the bar.
