we stayed in a private balcony room overlooking the idler and the channel, it was a very large room, decorated well, and clean. The front desk was amazing she gave us keys to multiple rooms and told us to go pick the one we like. a very nice weekend out.

Room tip: try and pick the room once you are there, early bird gets the worm.

We love happy guests, and since our rooms are all a little different, many times it comes down to personal preference. We are glad you enjoyed your room and your stay!

For the prices offered, there was no breakfast, or discounts offered to nearby restaurants. Beds were cardboard and ours had a rip and stain on it.

Front desk lady was great, very informative with answering our questions.

We do not offer breakfast, however, a few great options are only a short walk away for breakfast, and all shops, restaurants, beaches and nightlife our within walking distance.

That was what we went as to all the location in and around South Haven. This hotel, or should I say Motel was a great location and good for a first timer, but outside of that, you should check out other condos or housing arrangements. The staff, you call tell have either been there too long or did not enjoy what they did or make enough $$$, they were tired at best, not really into helping out as no wifi was given at checking and to say we got value is poor at best. We received a harbor view room on the ground floor complete with two windows and broken blinds, literally broken as in, missing blinds. Oh and the large crusty carpet stain? Well that was there along with wet, molding type smell. The best we could do was to cover it daily with a white towel. The room, after taxes was just shy of $250 a night, for that amount, you can find a small house a little farther away from downtown. Did it sleep two yes, but with a baby, with a pack and play, a bit cramped when you bring in the stroller. We enjoyed our stay, we enjoyed being out and about outside our room, but when you pay that amount, you would think you can enjoy the comforts of your own room a bit more that to sleep and shower. I can go on, but you will book if you are desperate or want to get a place that is not booked to capacity.

Our Harbor Landing rooms on the lower level are designed for two people who enjoy a view of the harbor, but are out and about during the day. They are small, and our value priced. Our Harbor View rooms with a private balcony are more spacious with a more panoramic view, and more space for a family. Our WIFI password is on our receipt and is usually highlighted and verbally mentioned at check in. At the height of our season things can break and we do our best to repair and replace promptly.

Had a room right over the harbor and across from the Maritime Museum. Architecture has the Dutch touch with gambrel roofs. Paid extra for a balcony for watching the boat traffic and bridge go up. Room was well appointed with a comfy king bed and a large walk in shower and a frig for keeping left overs. A little pricey and noisy at night but we knew that going in. Front desk staff very helpful. We went during the week so we had no trouble parking but the crowds at the beach were more than we were accustomed to. Can only imagine what it is like on week ends. Had 15% off with our AAA or AARP card. Definitely a memorable visit.

You are in the heart of everything South Haven at Old Harbor Inn! On beautiful summer days many do people head to the beach! South Haven has 7 beaches within the city and a few more a few miles our of town. We can recommend the perfect one for your beach style!

Hotel lacked attention in the maintenance department. Light fixtures had been replaced but the holes in the wall were never repaired and painted. Little things like cups or glasses in the bathroom were missing. The lady behind the desk seemed put out when we asked her for an extra wine glass for our room. We occupied a two bedroom suite and for $500 per night we expected more. The housekeeping staff was very accommodating when we asked for a couple extra things.
On the plus side the location was great. Beautiful view of the river and marina.
Within walking distance of just about everything. Lovely town!

Every winter several rooms are rehabbed. This particular suite is currently getting new bathrooms and a remodel.
