We traveled to South Haven for our 40th wedding anniversary trip. We thought we would do something a little more upscale than our usual Holiday Inn. Boy were we wrong. This place was not upscale at all. It's completely dated. The roof was leaking at the top of the stairs w/a bucket under it when we got off the elevator. (did I mention it was pouring down rain?) There was a 5 minute drop off spot in front of the Inn, but no place to park provided by the Inn. So we unloaded our stuff and my husband went to find a parking place down the street. We got to our room and were sorely disappointed by the lack of amenities. The room was also dated, broken toilet seat, tub that didn't drain well, broken headboard, etc. To think that we paid over 200.00 a night for this room.....260.85 to be exact, it was incredibly disappointing. There was little to do because of the pouring rain, but when it did let up we ventured downtown to Tello's for dinner........we were told by the waitress there that most people make reservations, even though there wasn't a soul in the restaurant. We had a horribly tasting pizza and walked back to the hotel in the rain to try and stick it out. Sleep in the concrete bed w/the hard pillows was hard to come by.
