This is s restaurant with ambition. The menu de Truffe was a bit expensive but good. Not very special. Still this restaurant is a nice place to eat in Martel.

Four of us had dinner here on Easter Saturday. We had heard from several locals - French and expats - that the food was excellent. This was not our experience, sadly.

The place was fully-booked, which is not surprising, but did they need to pack us all in so tightly? There was hardly room for one slim member of staff to get past our table and the one next to us. We all chose the 28€ Menu Gourmand. But the food was not exciting or tasty; my main course Parmentier, for example, was dry and tasteless. The one excellent thing was the wine - Haut Montplaisir from near Cahors.

A small restaurant opposite the market in Martel. The food is excellent with a range of menus from 28 Euros and a la carte. The food is focused on regional specialities but with imagination and beautiful presentation. Good wine list, sensibly priced.
Very professionally run , great service and nicely styled.
A really great place for a proper leisurely lunch after a morning at the market!. Booking would be advised.

Great quality food very tasty and well,presented and friendly staff. Even got vegetables with the main course which was a nice Surprise as you rarely get veg,on a french menu. Will definitely go back

In the heart of medieval Martel the Saveurs des Halles offers excellent food at value for money prices. Tables inside are available, but on a warm day the terrace offers very pleasant seating whilst "watching the world go by" in this pedestrianised town centre.

Menus at €26, €29 & €37 offer differing options of regional dishes, all well presented and cooked to perfection.

Highly recommended.
