Description: Located in the heart of Acadia National Park, the Jordan Pond House has been offering lunch and dinner of over 100 years. We are best known for our always fresh from the oven popovers. In addition, we serve soup, sandwiches, salads, lobster rolls, seafood and other entrees. We are currently closed for the 2017 season. We will be reopening in May of 2018.

Classic Acadia restaurants featuring popovers. Overall the food was excellent but (popovers, lamb shepherds pie and lobster roll) if not a little pricey but then again, they depend on summer tourism. Service was quick and friendly. The problem was that there was construction outside on the lawn so the lovely views were of back hoes and dug up land. Not really appealing though understandable. This is place worth a visit though just to say you had their popovers! And burn off all the calories with the 3 miles walk around Jordan Pond itself.

No visit to Acadia National Park is complete without Tea (or wine) and Popovers at the Jordan Pond House, overlooking the lake and Bubbles. You can either just order the popovers themselves, or get something on the menu that comes with one (we got the stew / soup). The strawberry jam goes perfect with them! Mel provided excellent service and we then hiked on the carriage trails to burn off all the calories. As noted by others, the outdoor lawn won't be open until July so it may get crowded here in late June

History is made better by sampling the tea and popovers at the Jordan Pond House restaurant. The restaurant was busy, but not as busy as it gets in the summer when you need to make a reservation to eat. We enjoyed our popovers and tea/coffee while enjoying the view of the Bubbles across the lake. The staff were very friendly, even though they were training, things went very smoothly. Lots to choose from on the menu to suit everyone. Excellent way to enjoy a break at the park.

Before heading to our Cadillac Mtn hike, we did have lunch here and it was the best choice as per the kids! Try their popover (sorry, no photo of that as it was gone too soon).

You have to really want to go here given the parking situation. We arrived more than an hour early just to make sure we had enough time to circle for parking. Unlike some of the recent reviews, our popovers arrived large and warm with butter and wonderful strawberry jam. I had the blueberry lemonade which was also good. The buffalo meatloaf sandwich was fine but nothing great. Our service was very good and friendly. You’ll also want to know that the famous outdoor lawn seating is under construction while they do drainage and grading work. See attached photo. Our server thought the new sod might be in sometime in July.
