Highly recommend this friendly neighborhood pub. Inexpensive, very fresh seafood is their specialty. Right across from the dock. I recommend the mussels.

Had tried on a number of occasions to eat here but opening hours a bit erratic. This place was highly recommended however the party of 7 we were in found the food very average. We did arrive on a busy August Sunday we felt we were herded in to the back room and had to wait ages for service. The toasties were burnt the chicken gojens very tough and the burgers were nothing special !

This is one of Ireland’s hidden gems. Not just the venue and the food but also the owner Helen. Absolutely lovely staff and traditional style bar. The sea food platter is best I have ever had. Salmon to die for! Don’t pass the area without stopping in! Pints and grub overlooking the sea and Bunaw harbour. Overnight accommodation available too!

Visited here on a nice sunny Sunday lunchtime. Such a great location by the small harbour to sit and watch the boats come and go, or chat about the beautiful scenery ..... or listen to a rat pack singer ! Great food, wonderful secret location but no need for the music.

We asked our kayak instructor if he could recommend somewhere around Kenmare with great seafood and Helen's Bar was his response. It's a bit of a drive from Kenmare and really off the beaten track, but totally worth it when you get there. Excellent food and lovely location right on the bay with boats coming in and out. Recommended.
