I've eaten here 3 or 4 times this month (July 2018) & the food is excellent & great value. Lovely seafood platters, hot & cold seafood dishes, fresh mussels, side salad & great chips. Great athmosphere. Music with Nick Ryan every Sum afternoon 3 to 7 pm.
Dine outside on the pier if it's a sunny day, it's like being in Spain.
A great place to bring family or friends. Won't dissappoint. Helen the proprietor is lovely & has a few words for everyone no matter how busy.

Picnic tables out the front and along the pier. Don’t expect fancy.... but super fresh fish served simply and with a smile. Family friendly and lovely aspect and views. Next door is the diving centre and also a Mussel museum - seemed closed when we visited -

Helens Bar is amazing! Real and authentic and Helen herself is a wonderful lady! The staff are excellent!! The Murphy's pint here is the best in the land of Ireland!! On a sunny day on the wooden tables by the sea-there is no where better a person could be!! The open salmon sandwich is delicious and great value! It's the best place for lunch and it's an amazing location!! Wayne

Well 5 stars on here is rare , if they were every warranted its for this place . Hill walking in the Kenmare area my friend suggested a visit. Now when you pull up outside it’s a throwback to what we once held dear in this country, old school. The bar with the paneling , the odd tables and stools . Then comes the menu . Now if you’re into sea food then you’ve arrived in Mecca . The menu is apt and straight arrows point to the sea some 50 odd meters away . The platter at €16 would be €30 in KINSALE down the road from where I’m from, Scampi the same . This place is truly a gem , and absolute must visit 👍👍👍

The choice may be limited but the crab salad is superb. Simple & fresh is the way to go. Several people also mentioned it serves an excellent pint of black.
