“Po-boys so good you'll want to slap someone! Everything is home made except the onion rings.”

What!? This place is so good I'm not sure it even should be trivialized with reviews. By far ... BY FAR ... the best po boys for miles around ... and that's saying a lot considering its location amongst some of the best restaurants, diners, delis, cafes and pubs you'll find anywhere.

They've got muffuletta's, wraps, burgers, clubs, plate lunches and po-boys. I've not been disappointed yet and the prices aren't half bad either. The po-boys come on Leidenheimer bread and, if you're from the New Orleans area, you know that bread is often time the difference between a good sandwich and an excellent one. Their roast beef po-boy is awesome on the Leidenheimer bread and it's messy ... just how a roast beef po-boy should be.

I believe they're only open for lunch ... 10:30A - 3P. If you're in the area, be sure to give them a chance.

Great little lunch spot in an area with limited choices. I had never heard of Lovecchio's until they moved to Norco, but everyone I talked to who knew them in Lakeview raves about how good it was and tells me they have the same menu. So, if you knew them then, you'll like them now, too.

Great po-boys on Liedenheimer bread (good crusty New Orleans french bread). Every variety I've had here is good, and they've got a huge variety. The shrimp is better than most - no popcorn shrimp here. The meatball, Regency, and roast beef po-boys are all "ten napkin" affairs. You might even need a bib. Very good and very juicy.

There are also good, hefty plate lunches every day (lasagna, chicken parm - good home style meals) and salads and wraps if you want to pretend to eat healthy.

Hot, fresh, crispy fries and waffle cut sweet potato fries. Bottled soda (i.e. no free refills - but you were trying to cut back on soda anyway, right?). If you're really thirsty, the tea is a better choice.

Parking is very limited. You can park at the abandoned bank building across the street (be careful crossing the street), but do NOT park at the sketchy sandwich shop over there (you might get towed).

Call ahead if you are in a hurry. Service is not slow, but it gets busy in this place. Seating is also a bit limited, but you can get it to-go, too. It's worth it.

Homecooked food. Friendly quick service. Daily specials, plus standard Po-boys and deli lunch choices.

Only drawback is they don't do AMEX.

We had the oysters with catfish and it was very tasty with a small salad. I remember when this place was in Lakeview before Katrina and the 12 ft of water but now they moved out to NORCO and ran into the place as a quick business lunch. Great grounded, relaxing restaurant and great service.

Service here is friendly and very prompt. Their plate lunches remind you of home (grandma). There's plenty on the plate, and for a good price. Really enjoy eating here - great neighborhood diner.
