Kenner Seafood is a typical home-style family oriented seafood restaurant in the New Orleans subburbs. I felt right at home and was looking forward to a great meal which is typical at these types of places.
The chargrilled oysters were great to spectacular but the red fish was a let down. Besides being served luke warm at best the quality and taste was poor. I have had red fish many times and know what to expect. Two people in our group ordered the red fish and both were equally disapointed. The catfish was good.
Service was slow and the wait staff while nice was absent most of the time. We were rushed at the time of ordering and had to ask for water and basically didn't see them again until our food arived over an hour later. We were later told the wait staff were also helping cook.
In their defense they were busy and had seated a very large group before us. However the owners/staff should be prepared for that during the holidays and right before the sugar bowl.
Unfortunately I would not recommend Kenner Seafood based on this experience. Stop by for a beer and raw or chargrill oysters but skip dinner.
