Very good food at affordable prices. They have great lunch specials too. Great desserts to end the meal.

My wife an I stopped at the restaurant as they are know as a tradition in New Orleans on a Thursday night about 7:00 PM. We were seated quickly and our server provided drinks and the specials. This is where the disappointment begins. I ordered the craw fish etouffee and my wife a shrimp poorboy. Our meals came out quickly and I was ready to enjoy. To my surprise the rice was way under cooked and my wife being Cajun agreed. I had the waiter take it back and then he came back 5 minutes later and said they where out of the etoufee sauce (Mind you this is at 7:00 PM on a Thursday) and could not prepare another dish. The waiter also explain that they had had other complaints about the rice. Then the manager came over and explained they had switched suppliers for the rice and would I care for something else. I settled on the Veal Copeland as that is one of their specialty dishes and received another surprise. The veal was so over cooked I could have used it for shoe leather. The manager came by again and just blew off the entire situation and wanted to know if I cared for something else. No apology rendered by him. I asked for my check and paid it in full and went to POPEYE'S CHICKEN and ordered my dinner which turned out wonderful. I will not go to Copelands again and will refuse to recommend them.
We decided to go to Copeland's because it was near the hotel we were staying at and the reviews were favorable. The restaurant was very lovely and had nice atmosphere.
We ordered the Fried Seafood Platter and the Crawfish Bread as appetizers. The platter is sold as a meal, but we were forewarned that it contained a shareable amount of food, so we ordered accordingly. It was good, but nothing particularly stood out. It was what you'd expect in a fried seafood platter at most places that offer such a thing. The crawfish bread was pretty good.
For our meals, we ordered the Cajun Gumbo YaYa and the BBQ Shrimp boil. I had to add salt to my gumbo, which was a little disappointing, but the BBQ Shrimp was really good. The broth was pretty (visibly) oily, and it kind of coated the corn, but all in all, it was our favorite dish hands down. There were several other dishes on the menu that we would try if we ever went back.
The price was very reasonable for the amount of food we got. It was a very nice chain restaurant.
Just ate at the one on Clearview. The service was fantastic. The food was delicious. The manager Matthew, and our waitress Rae were great. We had stuffed mushrooms that were incredible. I had the veal Copeland and it was perfect! I always make my way to Copelands every visit to New Orleans and tonight the food and service reminded me why. If you like New Olreans food this is the place.
Good review. Appetizers arrived on time and hot. Bayou Broccoli and Classic stuffed mushrooms.
Ordered a bottle of wine with dinner. Took a little longer than expected for waitress to arrive with the wine. After it was opened she just poured. It is customary to allow you to taste before full pour. Anyway wine was good. Ceasar salad could have been colder. The croutons were soft and not crunchy. Salad plate was not chilled.
Eggplant pirogue. Always good. The shrimp duckee with Angel hair pasta had a little kick. Veal Copeland tasty and tender.
Cheescake for dessert very good. Ordered red velvet cheesecake and bananas foster. Nice way to end dinner.
Would return for another visit.
