Heading home from a long trip and we had reservations at the hotel. We arrived at 9pm. With dog in tow. The gentleman at the desk seemed a little annoyed that he had to do something. The room itself was small. We had a hard time finding a spot for the dog bed due to the fact there wasn’t that much open floor space. There was a full size fridge and kitchen and the room was clean and the bed was comfortable.we would stay there again if the need arised

staff not wearing masks....rooms with peeling paint on walls and ceiling. 5 remotes in room, no batteries. neither phone in room worked. waited 15-20 min multiple times for someone at hotel to help us at front desk

Javier was exceptional at check in. Brian was very helpful and Angie made me feel welcome as well. In fact the entire staff was very accommodating. In fact, I have recommended the hotel to friends visiting Des Moines soon. Thanks for such a great place to stay. You are excellent, clean and convenient to groceries and restaurants. I plan to return and highly recommended this hotel.

I stayed with my family and our two small dogs. We came to the hotel after having an absolutely horrible check-in experience at another hotel down the road in Clive (see my other reviews for that one to avoid), which caused us to leave and find another hotel. I walked in without a reservation and was able to find a perfect king room with a pullout that would fit my family. I told my story of woe from the other hotel and the front desk clerk couldn't be more understanding and apologetic for our experience at another hotel. She could sense my frustration and disappointment and worked extremely hard to make us feel very welcomed and valued at the hotel. She took was was turning out to be a horrible night and turned it right around. The hotel was clean, pet friendly, and conveniently located. There was a large family reunion being held at the hotel while we were there and when I say large, I mean large. It stretched the capacity of the breakfast area, but it is large and the staff was working hard to keep all the breakfast options hot and refilled. My hats off to them for how they handled the number of guests eating breakfast at one time. We would definitely stay there again.

Pros: The staff was friendly, comfortable beds, location was convenient and it was pretty quiet.

Cons: Room was in rough shape. I opted for a suite and expected it to be nicer for the price I paid. The wall was cracked and paint was peeling, a lamp was glued together, ceiling had water damage, carpet was stained and a tile in the bathroom was wiggly. And it was odd to me that the kitchen had only 3 forks and no can opener. WiFi was pretty spotty. I wouldn’t stay here again unless the price was less or the rooms were updated.

I chose this hotel specifically because I’m an IGH member and like to collect points but I regret being brand loyal this trip.

We want all our guests' to feel at ease when they stay with us, and while I am happy learning that you found our staff members friendly, our bed comfortable, our location convenient and the rooms soundproofed well, it is with regret learning that your room left a lot to be desired because of the room's condition and for the connectivity issues encountered.
