Very nice hotel and atmosphere, everything looked splendid and the bedroom was super comfortable. Wished I could have stayed more. The location proved to be perfect too since it was in walking-distance from anything we needed.

I was generally impressed with this hotel. The breakfast buffett was substantial, the lobby was expansive, and the event rooms were more than adequate for the conference I was attending. Unfortunately, when checking in late at night I had to wait a good 20 minutes. I'm not sure what was going on, other than a maintenance issue, and a very unhappy customer in front of me who had to be rebooked in another hotel. There seemed to be just one employee at the counters. He was very apologetic, to his credit, but it was just unfortunate because I had driven across the state, walked a couple blocks from a parking ramp, and felt miserable because I had a cold setting in.

I wrote a review of this hotel in august I stayed there in june and july for over a month I dwelled on how bad the wine was yes it was horrible however I failed to mention that they have a great fitness center the size of a small gym and the indoor pool was fantastic the hotel is close to downtown where everything is they also have the skywalk yes no getting in the rain or snow or hit by crazy drivers the down stair bar is nice and if you travel a lot the concierge lounge is great free breakfast and dinner I was so impressed that the management reads these I felt I didn't tell the whole Marriott adventure and I do hope you did check out the wine quality at your hotel I haven't had a chance to get back there but I will and I'm counting on a better quality of wine and the same great friendly staff

Room tip: older and dated but clean kind of pricey but good location

I specifically needed a package when I checked in so I called to verify that ahead of time. Sure, no problem! I was told. It arrived at 9:30 am. When I checked in it was almost 4 pm and nowhere to be found. "Packages haven't been sorted for today yet." I called again when I got to my room. Nope. I then refused to hang up until they found it. Lo and behold, they found it. Did they offer to bring it to my room? Nope. I trudged down, waited some more time at the front desk, and then got it.

It's nice when hotels work to make things seamless for their customers, but this isn't one of those hotels.

Room service was late and they included an item I didn't order (and included it on the bill) =)

Despite being placed in a huge, expansive suite, I could clearly hear the conversations of people in the next room over. David Marriott, why don't you take out a bit of the excessive space in this suite and build actual soundproof walls?

Nice lobby, clean, has a nice modern gel with a bar. No on site parking except for valet, which is pricey for DesMoines. Only other option is parking garage across the street (has a skywalk). Rooms are decent. Restaurant on site had average food. Within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and bars.
