We stayed at the Wildwood Lodge for 1 night because we were attending the nearby Hinterland Music Festival. We initially booked it because it's pet-friendly and we were going to have our son look after the dog while attending the festival... But in the end, that plan changed and we got a regular double queen room.
The common areas were nicely appointed with a Northwoodsy theme... The room was your standard issue hotel room, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable.
It also had a mini-fridge, which is always a plus in my book. The property itself was surrounded by trees, so it's fairly insulated from the nearby interstate and shopping areas....you don't feel like you're in a typical cookie-cutter hotel, in a cookie-cutter mall area. A nice touch was the outdoor patio and fire table. The neighborhood seemed safe, and if you bring young kids, there's a nearby park district aquatics center, though the hotel has a nice, indoor pool. The included breakfast was above average. The staff at the front desk were very friendly.
So, in conclusion, our stay at the Wildwood Lodge was a good one. We'll definitely keep it in mind if we attend the Hinterland Festival in the future.
