So many visitors (and even locals) tend to think there is only one architectural tour leaving from the river at Michigan Ave...where all the tour boats are. But at the Ogden Slip at 455 East Illinois (The old North Pier), Chicago From The Lake provides the very best tours and the best service. Their docents are some of the most interesting and knowledgable architecture professionals and afficianados...and they also have a great wealth of knowledge about Chicago history. While the other tours may be "affiliated with the Chicago Architecture Foundation" (which they pay for) Chicago From the Lake is, without a doubt, the better choice. Don't go with the flow...take the offbeat option. I guarantee you won't be let down.
