This walking tour will give you an interesting and educational tour of hidden pleasures. You'll see interesting architecture, learn Chicago history and travel the underground pedway.
Our guide, Pawel/Paul has a degree in architecture history and is an excellent guide. He is thorough without being pedantic and is very personable.
You'll see the United Methodist downtown church ( a beautiful and unusual building), pieces of public art, including Chagall's mosaic wall and the famous/infamous sculptures around Chicago's governmental buildings.
You'll travel underground across the Loop, stopping at the underground shopping center, visit Macy's (formerly Marshall Fields) and end up at the Chicago Cultural Center, formerly the Chicago Public Library main building.
Pay special attention to the stained glass dome in the main area. It's gorgeous!
