This property is so unique. I feel like I've pampered myself every time I stay at The Modern, put the price is so affordable. The shower alone is worth the price of the room. I've spent at least a thousand nights in hotels all over the country. This is my favorite.

Happy with The Modern in every way! The location is perfect.. within walking distance of downtown Boise, close to Big City Coffee, one of my favorite coffee/restaurant hang outs and close to Hyde Park. At The Modern the rooms are always clean and the decor is fresh, not old and tired looking. I always feel good about climbing into bed at this hotel. They offer sweet little gift bags with toiletries and goodies. In the lobby they offer great coffee with warm almond and soy milk if requested. Also, The Modern gave me a really decent winter rate. It's so important (now more than ever) to support this great local hotel (that is not a big chain hotel) and all small businesses.
Me and my wife didn't feel comfortable going anywhere out of state, so we got a room at The Modern for her 40th Birthday. The room was great, the bed was very comfortable, and the soaking tub was wonderful. We forgot to check the fridge when we checked out and left a nice bottle of champagne that was a gift. When I realized the error and called them about it a few days later, I wasn't expecting to get it back, but was just being hopeful. They found it and I was able to stop by and pick it up that day, much to my amazement. I only wish their restaurant was still open because it is excellent and we always enjoy eating there.
I have loved The Modern from day one. This is a hip little spot with great food and a great little happening bar. it always feels fresh and clean and celebrates the local vibe. Prices are great, and if you can splurge a little to get a suite, the tub, living area, eating area are totally worth it!
After 6 weeks on the road, the touches and amenities the hotel offered, from the quality of the room to the coffee served, was amazing. The staff is extra friendly and the location is also near everything you want to do, see (or not do, during Covid). I can't wait to stay here again.
unique place to stay in Boise. good location, great rooms, friendly staff and always an artsy touch (in this case, a great series of international short films on their tv channel). they will lend you a bike, point you in the right direction (easy walking/bikig access to downtown) and smile all through the day. love the Modern!
