Our family of 5 had tickets to see "A Christmas Story" live at the Garden Theatre and went looking for a place to eat nearby online. We knew we wanted something fast and easy, but also tasty. We decided on this place because of all the different options on the menu, the pricing, the location, and the Yelp reviews were great.
We listened to the advice that this place can get awfully busy so we planned to show up early enough just in case we needed to wait. We were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away about 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday evening. Out waiter took our drink order almost immediately. We looked over the menu briefly because we already knew what we were going to order from looking at the menu online and then took in the sights of the restaurant. There is a little outside seating area, 2 different sides to the dining room (not sure why), big windows looking out onto the main street, and the décor is very interesting. They also have a salad bar. We didn't eat at the salad bar, but we saw a lot of people utilizing it, so it must be good!
The waiter returned with our drinks and took our food order. One medium pepperoni and bacon pizza, one pepperoni and Italian sausage calzone, and an order of garlic knots. As we were chatting and waiting on our food we noticed that the restaurant was beginning to fill up fast. There was a line waiting to be seated! We definitely made the right choice showing up early.
Our food came out in a timely manner. The garlic knots were first. They were okay; nothing special about them, but they weren't bad either. I won't order them again though. The pizza and calzone looked and tasted AMAZING. The calzone was made perfectly; not too thick and not too thin. Most calzones I've every had were so thick it was basically all crust, but not this calzone. It wasn't too greasy either. I took one bite of the pizza (it was for the kids) to taste it and it too was amazing.
For a breakdown of cost: my husband and I both had 2 beers (his were draught and mine bottles) and 3 kids each had a soda; 1 Medium 2-topping pizza, 1 2-topping calzone, and garlic knots came to $62. I thought that was quite reasonable.
Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a good pizza place in Winter Garden, FL. They also serve sandwiches, which look amazing. Maybe we will have to try one next time!
