We loved Cabana Bay and the retro feel of the resort. The mid-century decor was amazing! We loved the bowling alley and the food court. There were lots of areas for relaxing around the resort and we found the laundry facilities to be clean and easy to use.

We stay for a Family Vacations (8 Nights) and the place is nice but I feel it is kind of expensive for the few amenities it offers. The best perk is the transportation, they always have buses to take to the hotel or the park. Volcano bay is a 3-5 min walk which is great. I don’t think I will stay again at a Universal Hotel but it was a good experience overall.

Great place to stay. We all love the volcano Bay view from the tower. The higher the floor the better. We could see the Orlando Eye, the needle and a bunch of other wonderful things. But the Volcano view is gorgeous.

This was our first family trip to Universal Studios. We went the week right before memorial day in May 2018. We highly enjoyed it! The busses n shuttles were helpful. The dinner was a nice place to eat, especially for breakfast. The lazy river and water slide with the pools were enjoyable for the kids.

We stayed at Cabana Bay, in building 8, which happens to be one of the two "towers". When we arrived we asked about available rooms, and the folks checking us in were happy to give us the options. We chose two adjoining rooms on the 10th floor of the tower. It was a pool view, but looking out over the hotel site we could also see the Hulk coaster, rip-ride rocket coaster, and the upper half of Hogwarts.
I would say it was on the same level as the the Disney All-Star resorts in terms of amenities and cost. However, it didn't feel as crowded as Disney. One big improvement versus Disney was the frequency of shuttles. The longest we had to wait for a shuttle was a couple minutes, versus sometimes waiting 15-20 minutes for a shuttle at Disney. It is also about a 5-10 minute walk along the path to Loew's Sapphire Hotel, where you can grab a water shuttle to Citywalk, if you would rather arrive by boat.
